Santa Clara, CA

The Global Liver Institute is proud to announce the recognition of president, Donna Cryer, as one of the most influential individuals in patient activism. Donna’s accomplishments in driving collaboration and policy change in the liver disease and patient advocacy community have made a tremendous impact on her peers, health advocates, fellow patients, and the scientific community.

With her leadership and commitment to patient engagement, she has supported the launch of the Office of National Coordinator for HIT (ONC) consumer engagement campaign and serves on the ONC technical expert panel on patient-generated health data. As a member of the White House e-health equity task force and the judging panel on the White House design challenge on innovation, her unwavering commitment to patient empowerment led to her support of the electronic patient medical record. In addition to her policy accomplishments, Donna is a patient representative to the FDA, a PCORI merit reviewer, and a member of the Stakeholder Advisory Group as well as an advisor for a number of other health organizations. She is a frequent speaker on patient advocacy, patient engagement, mHealth, and HIT.

Donna was honored to provide the keynote address for Health 2.0 in 2014, and she was humbled to be welcomed back on the Health 2.0 stage again for this year’s award. Through thousands of votes gathered from this past summer and in the preliminary final round during the past few weeks, support for Donna’s commitment to her work was well received with her nomination. She graciously accepted the honor from Health 2.0 during their 2016 premiere showcase and catalyst for the advancement of new health technologies.
